It is a requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh's Hillary Award scheme that all Adventurous journey participants undergo suitable training prior to embarking on any activity. BUSHWORKS.NZ offers a comprehensive classroom based learning programme and training trips at the Bronze, Silver and Gold levels.
BRONZE TRAINING; A full weekend of activities and classroom based learning that covers all the basics a participant need to start their award. Courses run from 0830-1700 hrs on a Saturday and a Sunday. Participants must attend the whole weekend to complete the training. At the end of the training, participants will be prepared to embark on their Bronze practice trip. Click here for the next scheduled dates.
SILVER TRAINING; Three nights of tuition from 1800-2030 hrs, (or a one full day theory session) followed by a weekend away assessing participants skills.
